Open House
Friday, June 6 2025
2:00 – 5:00 p.m.
We’re so excited to welcome our out-of-town guests to our home before the big day! This is not a wedding event, but a chance to have you all out to our home. Please join us for a casual Open House featuring light appetizers and drinks—no formal meal, just a chance to relax, mingle, and enjoy some tasty bites together and see where Greg is spending all his time. It’s the perfect opportunity to catch up and explore our space. If you are unable to make it, that’s ok, the real wedding festivities kick off the next day at our official Wedding Welcome Party hosted by Kim & Charlie (Jen’s sister and brother-in-law). Please RSVP for this event by email to greg@webicine.com.

Things to see and do near Jen & Greg’s house
Take a walk around the Harrison Lagoon to capture full views of this gorgeous lake. Have a quick bite to eat or grab an ice cream along the shops. This is the first lake Greg saw visiting the pacific northwest and was immediately struck by its colors and beauty. Harrison Lake is 37 miles long and covers a total area of 135 square miles, at its deepest it reaches a max depth of 915ft. At this time of year, the sun will go behind the mountains around 7 p.m.
(21 minutes from Jen and Greg’s house)
If it’s a hot day and you’d like to take a quick dip in the lake, Entrance Bay Provincial Park is a beautiful location where Greg & Jen frequent after work through the summer months. At this time of year, the sun should go behind the mountains around 8 p.m.
(30 minutes from Jen and Greg’s house)
There is a 0.62 miles loop trail with 272ft of elevation that takes you to the viewing platform of the waterfall. Bridal Veil Falls is the 38th tallest waterfall in British Columbia at 400ft, it is 280ft taller than the tallest waterfall in Minnesota (High Falls). This is a must see in the spring with the freshet as it is a stunning sight.

YVR The best option is to fly into Vancouver International Airport (YVR). There are daily flights from MSP to YVR with Delta Airlines.

SEA The cheaper flight option is to fly domestically into Seattle International Airport (SEA) and rent a car that’s allowed to be driven across the border and drive straight up the i5. The drive between Seattle Airport and Vancouver takes approximately 3 hours, pending rush hour traffic.
A vehicle rental is needed for our wedding. From our house to Jen’s sisters, to the ceremony site itself is over 2.5 hours away from each other (without traffic). There is no Uber at our house or at the ceremony site during the times required. Vehicle rentals for 4 days from YVR start at $145USD for shuttle to vehicle or terminal pick up starting at $225 USD

The Lee Family is staying in a suburb of Vancouver, Langley, near Jen’s sister Kim’s house. The map above shows our house, Kim’s house and the Sea to Sky Gondola.
We suggest staying somewhere along Highway 1, between Vancouver and Langley.
The guest list for our small wedding does not warrant a room block, however, we have secured discounted rates with wedding wire’s group policy.

Surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and the Coast Mountains, Vancouver is famous for its stunning natural scenery and vibrant cultural mix—and many of the city’s attractions highlight both.
Whether you’re seeking family-friendly activities, an outdoor adventure, or a chance to discover something new, there’s an experience waiting for you. Here are some top recommendations to help you begin your journey.
- Granville Island: A vibrant center for food, art, and culture, Granville Island is home to over 300 businesses. The Public Market boasts a diverse selection of take-out options perfect for a waterfront picnic or ingredients for a memorable home-cooked meal. The local art galleries and specialty shops add to the island’s charm, making it a one-of-a-kind and beloved destination.
- Stanley Park: A lush, 405-hectare urban oasis in the heart of Vancouver, offering scenic views of the ocean and mountains. It’s home to numerous walking, biking, and hiking trails, along with beautiful beaches and gardens. Visitors can explore landmarks like the Seawall, Vancouver Aquarium, and the iconic Totem Poles. Walking the Stanley Park Seawall typically takes around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace and how often you stop to enjoy the views. The Seawall stretches for about 9 kilometers (5.6 miles) around Stanley Park, offering stunning views of the ocean, mountains, and city skyline. If you’re in the mood for a leisurely stroll or want to take photos along the way, it may take a bit longer!

- VanDusen Botanical Garden is a peaceful 22-hectare urban retreat, featuring over 7,500 plant species and varieties. Immerse yourself in the vibrant colors and soothing scents and enjoy the expansive lawns—perfect for a relaxing outdoor picnic.
- Whale Watching in Vancouver is possible in early June! This time of year, marks the beginning of the peak whale watching season in the region. During June, you can often spot orcas, humpback whales, gray whales, and other marine life in the waters off Vancouver’s coast. Several tour companies operate in the area, offering boat trips to view these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. It’s a great time to experience the wildlife before the summer crowds arrive! If you are interested in this attraction, book tickets early.

- Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art: The Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art, located in downtown Vancouver, is the only public gallery devoted to contemporary Indigenous art from the Northwest Coast. Named after the artist behind the iconic Jade Canoe sculpture at YVR and the artwork featured on Canada’s $2 coin, this intimate space showcases remarkable cultural works.

- Canada Place & FlyOver Canada is a striking waterfront complex in Vancouver, known for its distinctive white sails that resemble a ship’s design. It houses various attractions, including shops, restaurants, and the Vancouver Convention Centre, offering stunning views of the harbor and mountains. One of the key highlights at Canada Place is “FlyOver Canada,” a thrilling virtual flight experience that lets visitors soar across the country’s most breathtaking landscapes. This immersive ride uses advanced technology, wind, scents, and motion to simulate a true flying experience over iconic Canadian landmarks.

If you are researching Vancouver and things to do, avoid the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and Grouse Mountain. These two attractions are very similar to the Sea to Sky Gondola where you will be attending our wedding.
And of course, if you are interested in something not on this list or for outdoor adventures, please let us know in advance, we’d be more than happy to help you plan your time in our city.
